If you say “I’m not voting ❤️” your excuse better be not living in America, under 18 or you legally cannot vote for whatever reason. Now is not a time to be apolitical.
NPR just ran a story about how undecided voters are less than 1% of the voting population so the current tactic is to disenfranchise voters into not voting. They’re flooding social media with trolls and bots talking about how they’re not voting because their preferred candidate didn’t win the primaries, about how nothings going to change and there’s no point in voting. And the thing is, we know how social media works. People get stuck in these echo chambers and have those ideas reinforced over and over again by hundreds of different (fake) voices. It’s not directly voter suppression, but it smells very heavily of it.
So like. Don’t fall into their lies. Vote like our lives depend on it, because they do.
I’m not American, but like. This needs a signal boost.

So many dudes are freaking out about this and it’s beyond funny because this is pretty much every woman’s fantasy reaction to creepy dudes being assholes from the age of like 10 on up. Like 80% of us would do this every time given the slightest chance of getting out of it alive
What’s fun is the double standard. This is exactly what Arnold did in Terminator 2 to get his biker outfit. That’s lauded as a hilarious moment and people love it. Do the exact same thing with a woman? Oh no! She’s being VIOLENT! How terrible! How unprofessional! How bad of a role model she is! Boo hoo!
We’re defending superheros by comparing them with murderous robots now, nice. Makes total sense.
We are and it is and it does.
But also, isn’t that sort of the issue? Terminator is presented as a murderous robot, and he still gets a pass for that scene, whereas Captain Marvel, superhero, doesn’t.
The problem isn’t just that it’s a woman, it’s that so many men have been in that guy’s shoes. They know if every woman behaved like Captain Marvel, they’d be in that same situation.
Not every protagonist has to be a morally pure five thousand percent of the time, and the women watching this should be regarded as rational human beings who can differentiate between fantasy and reality

Nestle should be liquidated. If you have actual former fucking slaves testifying against your company for its exploitation and abuse of child slave labor there is no logical reason, other than profit, to be allowed to continue business. This goes for any business engaging in human rights violations—oh wait, there goes every billion dollar multinational corporation.
Seriously though, how much longer can this system continue? How many lives have to be lost? How many people have to suffer? How long will the negative impacts of the profit motive be excused as a necessary evil?
It kills me to think about, honestly.

How is it bootlicking to say that a fictional government system is better at deciding who gets what than individuals?
For the record, the guy actually invented this with the intent of it being used to crack down on human trafficking. Traffickers often cover their victims in heavy/unusual makeup before posting pics of them online, to make them harder to detect using normal software.

dollar store got wise and started charging for broom handles and the broom head, trying to charge me $5 for the whole deal, 3 for the handle and 2 for the head.
i said fuck that because while they thought they were getting smart, they were dumb enough to write that they had over 1500 different products on the front of the store, which tells me that the cashier who works for close to minimum wage is n e v e r checking up on what each individual item costs and how it’s sold
so i put the broom handle and matching head together and kept my hand on the handle, a subtle move to hide the second barcode, saving me three dollars, and the confidence to walk out like i own the place
